After more than a decade at Trail Bay Mall, the cooperative Coastal Art Gallery has re-opened at Sunnycrest Mall in Upper Gibsons. At a gala reception on May 14, a portion of the Sunshine Coast’s arts community gathered with friends and family to fête the official launch of the gallery’s new location. Founder and director Doris Biddle is among the nearly 30 artists whose paintings, photographs, ceramics, and textiles are on display. Each artist volunteers by serving shifts at the front counter, engaging admirers in conversation about their craft.
