Kris Bulcroft, Capilano University's sixth president and second vice chancellor, is coming on Friday, May 4 to speak to women and girls of all ages who are being invited to A Girl's Night Out at St. John's United Church at 7 p.m.

The Sunshine Coast Club of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) is hosting an evening of fun and entertainment to raise awareness about education for girls and women on the Coast and B.C., and to raise funds for the bursaries that CFUW awards annually to mature Coast women.

The entertainment includes internationally acclaimed flautist Nina Haedrich accompanied by pianist and music coach Catherine Hume; our infamous Ken Dalgleish, and The Threshold Singers.

The fun part includes a stand-up comedy competition (bring your very best joke), a pub quiz with team prizes, and competitive shopping (A.K.A. a silent auction and raffle). Snack food will be served and a selection of wines and soft drinks will be available.

Tickets are $15, available at Maribel's Fine Fashion (Sechelt), the Medicine Shoppe (Wilson Creek) and Coast Princess Books (Gibsons Landing). Seating is limited so there may not be any available at the door.

This year is the 25th anniversary for the local club of the CFUW. To date this club has awarded more than $100,000 in bursaries to Sunshine Coast women returning to or continuing post secondary education. All net proceeds from this event are going to the Bursary Fund.
