Gibsons Marine Rescue Society launched their Making Waves fundraiser for RCM Search and Rescue Station 14 last weekend with an evening of appetizers and drinks at Leo’s Tapas & Grill in Gibsons on Aug. 14.
Sixteen paintings by local artists are available for viewing and bidding online, as well as at Leo’s (they’re pictured here along the walls). The fundraiser is on until noon, Aug. 28.
The evening libations were well-earned: Earlier that day, part of the RCMSAR crew had been out on a call to rescue an injured paddleboarder.
