Curious about what's happening in the 2025 federal election? Poll trackers are created not to necessarily influence who people vote for, but to give electors information about specific ridings, give an overall snapshot of how political parties are doing across the country, and give seat and popular vote projections.
The 338Canada project is a statistical model of electoral projections based on opinion polls, electoral history and demographic data. It was created by Philippe J. Fournier, a physics and astrophysics professor at Cégep de Saint-Laurent in Montreal.
338Canada.com provides electors data about specific ridings such as North Island-Powell River, and data on all 343 electoral districts across the country. The federal election takes place on Monday, April 28. In order to form a majority government a party needs to win 172 seats.
To find out the current election projections on 338.com use the search bar on the top left of the website and type in a specific riding or MP, or click on one of the categories listed on the top right of the website, such as electoral districts, federal parties or all federal polls. To find out about the methodology used in this poll tracker, go to About 338Canada's Methodology.
Seeking to represent North Island-Powell River as MP are Aaron Gunn (Conservative Party of Canada), Tanille Johnston (New Democratic Party), Jennifer Lash (Liberal Party of Canada), Paul Macknight (People’s Party of Canada), Jessica Wegg (Green Party of Canada) and Independent Glen Staples.
Powell River Chamber of Commerce will host an all-candidates meeting from 6 to 8 pm at Evergreen Theatre in Powell River Recreation Complex on Thursday, April 17.
