Wendy Kinley will soon be sitting in the patio furniture of her dreams after scoring a $100,000 guaranteed prize from the December 25, 2021, Lotto 6/49 draw.
According to a media release from British Columbia Lottery Corporation, the Powell River resident purchased the winning ticket from Carlson Community Club on Joyce Avenue and was on her way to a friend’s house when she popped into a local pub to check it.
“I had one ticket left and that was the one,” stated Kinley.
She immediately called her husband and kids to share the news, according to the release.
“He didn’t believe me,” stated Kinley. “I sent the kids a picture of the validation and they called me right away and were so excited.”
In addition to purchasing some new patio furniture, Kinley said she looks forward to taking a vacation in the near future.
“It’s amazing,” she added. “Dreams do come true!”
