Kisses and Kicks: May 19

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of May 19!

  • Kisses to people who delight passers-by with beautiful natural-style gardens, which in turn provide thriving habitat for so many plants and animals. Trees do not obstruct the view. They are the view and deserve respect!
  • Frozen boot kicks to the loud, obnoxious Leaf’s fan sitting on the 101 patio. You were so loutish we had to move.
  • Kisses to Jordan, from the Sunshine Coast Disc Golf Association, for finding and returning my sunnies! Much appreciated and thank you.
  • Hisses and kisses to the cashier who didn’t think I heard them when they hissed at me as I entered the store. I’m amazed you recognized me after all these years.
  • Big hugs to little girl who came to me after dinner Sunday night, after helping my disabled husband out of the restaurant and said “You look nice.” What a lovely little girl.
  • Thanks to Alan for filling in the pot holes in front of the mailboxes and Coast Reporter box on Marine Drive in Granthams near Soames Creek. Without heavy equipment and flag people, Alan spotted a pile of gravel near the pot holes and using his wheel barrow and shovel single handily made the stop a little smoother for a lot of us. A sincere thank you!
  • Kisses to the two wonderful women who came to my aid when I fell unwell at the Heritage Playhouse Theatre. You were very caring and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
  • Kisses to Bill for using his steam cleaner to scrub away the grime covering the bricks of Winegarden Park. They were purchased by residents years ago to support a drive to upgrade the park. Once again, we can see the names and appreciate folks who step up and give to various good causes.
  • Kisses and a big hug to the dear lady who offered me a band-aid when my shopping basket slipped down on my arm and caused it to bleed.
  • To the lovely gentleman who consoled me at Trolls Monday when my special needs son was an hour late for our meeting. Bless your heart. Would love to reconnect should you be amenable. Facebook Niv.
  • Big thanks to the nice man who helped us put the handles on my husband’s walker at Can Tire parking lot. I so appreciated your help and hope your finger is better. Ouch!

Email your Kisses and Kicks to [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is 1 p.m. every Tuesday for a given week.

Coast Reporter will run kisses and kicks entries as space permits on a first-received, first-published basis.

Submissions must be accompanied by a name and phone number for confirmation by the editor. Names will not be printed in the column unless requested by the writer, for kisses only.

A kick is intended to be an anonymous critique between private parties and may in no way publicly identify an individual, group or business directly or indirectly.

Submissions must be no longer than 30 words. If your thanks or critique is longer, consider an ad in our classified section. The editor reserves the right to edit or refuse to run any submission.
