Kisses and Kicks: Kisses to the man picking up garbage on Marine Drive

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kisses and kicks for the week of April 18!

  • Endless kisses to Darian, John, Donna and Pam for welcoming Silverstone visitors with such warmth and care -- especially Arlo! We will miss you!
  • Grateful kisses to Silverstone’s Jeff for outstanding, caring service to both my family members. We’ll miss you!
  • Kicks to joggers in Poplars Estates at 4 a.m. who have flashlights in hand. Light shines into windows, starting a chain reaction of barking dogs.
  • Platefuls of kisses to the two kind and engaging ladies who paid for our lunch at the Lighthouse Pub. You thanked us for our laughter, wished us well, and then told the server not to inform us that you’d paid, until after you left the pub! You make this world a brighter and better place.
  • Loads of grateful kisses to whoever is responsible for repairing our beloved Mahan Trail. Thank you for a wonderful job! Two happy walkers/cyclists.
  • Kisses to the kind person who turned in my husband’s wallet at Shoppers Drug Mart on March. 31. There are good people in the world. We can’t thank you enough.
  • Kisses to Dr. Hershel, Dr. Erman and the staff at Gibsons Veterinary Hospital for the excellent life care of our two Lakelands, Lola and Enzo. You’re the best.
  • Kisses to everyone who wants to support and preserve our natural wildlife. Kisses to those who mistakenly put out bird seed and got a black bear. However...our wildlife doesn’t need “people food.” It needs habitat, its own food, and corridors to travel.
  • A truck load of kisses to the gang at First Response, DKI for going above and beyond; showing great care and concern for our needs.
  • Thank you Jacky and Rick at local family operated Big Foot Storage Facility. As a customer of 10-plus years, I have found them courteous, honest with 24-hour surveillance. Safe with no worries.
  • Kisses to the staff at Strait Coffee in Wilson Creek.  They always make me feel so welcome and appreciated as a regular customer.  Kudos to them for keeping such positive vibes even when some customers are not being kind.
  • Bags full of kisses to the guy we saw picking up the garbage on Marine Drive across from the “Welcome to Gibsons” sign on Sunday April 6.  Kicks to the thoughtless people who dump it there.
  • Grateful kisses to the wonderful person who on April 4 turned my wallet in after I left it in cart at Canadian Tire. Thank you so very much!
