Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of December 13!

  • Kisses to HMB roofer, Shane Wilson and team, for responding promptly, getting the job done promptly, and following up afterwards. I didn’t think exceptional service existed anymore!

Kicks to people in HMB who put upholstered furniture on the street when the forecast calls for rain. Why not take it to Habitat for Humanity instead of creating landfill?
  • Kicks and a forehead slap to the drivers who gleefully drive all the way home from the ferry in a rainy and windy night with their headlights off.
  • Sincere kisses for Carrie’s help, and the always amazing work from London Drugs photo developing service! Thank you yet again.
  • Kisses and big thanks to the team at Daily Roast who graciously accepted patrons to stay in the cafe during a November power outage for extended periods. Some only came to recharge their phones, for me it was a matter of spending three full workdays at the cafe. Thank you for your hospitality and the goodies you serve.
  • Hugs to all first responders who helped our community overcome the effects from the early storm and power outage. While being without power is a big inconvenience especially for those working from home. I am certain that your continued efforts got us back online as early as possible.
  • Much appreciated kisses to all the B.C. Hydro workers, firefighters, and tree personnel that responded swiftly to the crazy wind storm chaos last month
  • Canine kisses to the two people who actually stopped to try and help a dog in distress on the highway. Kicks to the people who sped passed it honking, scaring the already frightened dog even more.
  • Kindness kisses to the constable who responded to my call of a severely injured deer off the highway. Thank you for ending his suffering. Your compassion is appreciated.
  • Continuing kicks to all the many speeders on Redrooffs Road. Speed limit is 50km –– in case you “can’t read good”
  • Kicks to the person, who in the Nov.15 CR sent kicks to those who did not vote conservative in the provincial election. How about starting to have some respect for democracy?
  • Kisses to the wonderful staff and customers of the Gumboot Cafe. I inadvertently left my purse there after a delicious lunch. I returned 40 minutes later to have it returned to me by a smiling staff member. Thank you!
  • Kicks to the gas bar for not making perfectly clear the one way only entrance at the pumps.
