Kisses and Kicks: Kisses to ambulance attendants, kicks for excessive high beams

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of January 10!

  • A well-deserved standing ovation (if only in our hearts) to Richard Austin and Mike Oswald for their stunning performance of A Christmas Carol at Sechelt Library, along with their old-style outfits, top hats, Richard’s mischievous cockney accent and much drama! Thanks too to Charlotte and Jolene for the delicious hot mulled cider, goodies, festive decorations and realistic fireplace!
  • A million kisses to the ambulance attendants who came to Field Road and helped my sister who had fallen on the floor. Thank you so much for the service above and beyond duty.
  • Hugs and kisses to the ukulele musicians who played at Sunnycrest Mall on Saturday, Dec. 21. You strummed and sang Christmas songs so beautifully. Thank goodness I had several tissues to catch the tears running down my face with each new song. Thank you all.
  • Kicks to the person on Oceanmount feeding the crows whole peanuts. They fly onto my roof to eat them and are pecking at my shingles possibly causing a leak. It is much better to feed them shelled peanuts.
  • Kicks to the woman in the Sechelt pool changeroom who had music playing loudly on her phone while she showered. She then had her speaker on high volume to carry on a conversation. When asked to shut off or turn down the volume, she used extremely abusive language to intimidate me.
  • Kisses to my sis and broski in-law for the rad Christmas spread and enthralling Yahtzee competition. See you on the flip side, homies!
  • Kisses to the folks who had the good sense to place traffic pylons around that tank-trap hole on the northwest corner of North Road and Reed Road. That hole is a genuine traffic hazard. It’s good to know that someone has public safety in mind.
  • A new year full of kisses to the BC Hydro crew that worked until after 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve to restore our power! Without your efforts we would have had a cold and less bright Christmas morning.
  • Kicks to myself for not having had better control of my puppy by the Gibsons Rec Center on a Sunday morning. To the lady out walking with her friend, I am so very sorry that he jumped on you and damaged your jacket. It’s back to the trainer for us.
  • Happy kisses and hugs to the amazing staff at London Drugs. Especially Claire and Chris who were a great help when we were buying a new iPad.
  • Kicks to people who drive with high beams on day and night.
