Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of February 16!
- Dirty diaper filled kicks to the parents who decided to drive quads on Connor Park field and trails for your snow day. Not a road legal vehicle, damaged the field and nature trails, extremely selfish.
- Scalding kicks to coffee shops that still charge more for plant based milk options. In 2024, we should be encouraging healthier choices, not punishing them.
- Kicks to certain dog walkers who have untrained dogs off leash near Christensen Village. Those dogs run onto the marsh area and chase and terrorize the ducks.
- Thanks to all the wonderful people who came to my rescue on Jan. 4 when I fell on the highway near Teredo Street. I didn’t get your names but I was amazed at the wonderful people who helped me. I especially want to thank the paramedic who stopped on her way home after her shift and phoned for the ambulance and stayed with me while I was admitted to hospital.
- Kicks to our neighbour’s dog, who incessantly barks, irritating our poor, old uncle.
- Incredulous kicks to the man with two boys who were all riding large off-road motorcycles on a trail in Cliff Gilker Park. What an example to set, have a word with yourself!
- Many, many minor and major bravos to the Coast Recital Society, the Garibaldi Trio and composer Stephen Chatman. The speed with which the entire audience spontaneously rose to their feet with applause at the end of the new work speaks volumes to the quality of the music on this Coast.
- A carload of kisses to the three gentlemen of SCRD who helped me get my car back on the road again. So much appreciated, I am very grateful.
- Kisses to the post worker who stopped during her her busy work day to help a senior remove snow from her vehicle- you made my day! Thanks again
- Jordan McCourt would like to thank everyone helping in Caps Off Recycling, and everyone donating recycling items and putting his name on the bags.
- An outhouse full of kicks to the person who thought it was appropriate to defecate and urinate on the floor in the entrance to the produce department of a store in Sechelt on Feb. 6.
- Kisses to my dogs.
