Kisses and Kicks: Kicks to entitled dog owner, kisses to cleaner of beach styrofoam

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of January 27!

  • Hugs and kisses to Tara and others who helped me through an extremely hard situation.  Could not have done it without your help.
  • Kisses to the honest young man who returned my keys, lost on Tuwanek beach last week, l was so surprised that l forgot to thank you, well, thank you now, a million times…
  • Kisses to Jeff in Gibsons who has cleaned 1.5 garbage bags of styrofoam off our local beaches.
  • Kicks to the entitled dog owner who berated me for suggesting that she keep control over her dog so that it didn’t lick the legs of strangers. We were in a store! There seems to be a pandemic of badly behaved dog owners. Take some responsibility.
  • Many thanks to the lovely couple from Kelowna at Bonniebrook beach. They used two walking poles to get the loop of my car keys and wiggle them up, until they could get them out 1 inch of an open window. Your six tries with determination and perseverance, really made my day.
  • A mighty shout out to Gord Saunders and his many helping friends who opened up his property on Lagoon Road for parking by donation for the busy May Day celebrations in Madeira Park. That was a brilliant idea and it worked! The Pender Harbour Food Bank Society is very grateful indeed!
  • Kisses to the volunteers at the loan cupboard at Sechelt Hospital.  The loaning of medical supplies such as wheelchairs, walkers, and walking sticks etc is a valuable service which is much appreciated.
  • Kicks to whoever is responsible for garbage receptacles at the Bonniebrook beach first parking lot...c’mon you have the dog bags there but no garbage bin!
  • A van full of kisses from the residents and recreation staff of Totem Lodge to the Blue Ocean restaurant for their excellent service and yummy food over the May Long Weekend. Your genuine kindness and absolute efficiency gave us all a wonderful experience.  They can’t wait to return!
  • Kisses to Mark and Piers of BC Ambulance for coming so quickly to help my husband, Fred. Incredibly kind, efficient and professional. Thank you both along with the wonderful ER staff at the hospital.
  • Kisses to the office staff and road crews at Capilano Highway Services for their quick and conscientious response to our concerns. The dust control on our road is – cough! cough! – much appreciated!
