Kisses and Kicks: Kicks for not picking up dog poop, kisses for winter delivery

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kisses and kicks for the week of February 21!

  • Pretty pink kisses to Ann-Lynn Flowers, for your kind delivery during our wintry weather!
  • Kicks to all those who throw too much salt on the ice. That gets washed by the rain into the drains and then into the ocean, hurting the fish.
  • Huge kisses to the three people who stopped to help our senior dog Koen who was on the side of the road near our driveway. He was experiencing pain and was having difficulty walking. They called the number on his collar and alerted us to his situation and stayed with him until I ran down the driveway to help him back home.
  • Many thanks and happy Valentine’s Day to a mom and her daughter who corralled my escapee great Pyrenees, Bey, and brought him home on Thursday. He turned eight years old on Valentine’s Day-such a relief to have him back! Many heartfelt thanks for your generosity!
  • I was having an awful day on Valentine’s Day, I went into Super Valu. While paying and complaining to Mat, the cashier, he turned from the till and gave me a beautiful red rose. A very much appreciated gesture!
  • Kicks to the disgusting people who don’t pick up their dog poop! To the abusive man who declined the offer of a bag, thanks for reminding me I have a phone because now I have pictures of you and your dog.
  • Kisses to all personnel from the Fawn Road fire hall and the ambulance medical team attending my recent medical needs. You do more than your share of making this such a wonderful place to live.
  • Cups of kisses to the awesome staff and family of The Bakery in Sechelt. You provide such friendly atmosphere, good food and drink, and always with a smile. You are community, and we’re so fortunate to have you (thanks for the rides too, you know who you are).
  • Kisses to everyone in the community who brought in Valentine’s cards for our seniors and team! Your kindness and thoughtfulness brought so much joy to everyone.
  • Kicks to those not cleaning up their dog poo around Porpoise Bay. It’s all over the sidewalks by the Sechelt Marsh, on the pier by the boat launch, etc. We travel a lot around B.C., and I couldn’t believe how much dog poo is everywhere.
  • Kicks to dog owners who don’t pick up their poop on Parkland trails.  Today I filled 10 bags, one trail, within 30 feet of garbage cans with bag dispensers. Disgusting!
