Kisses and Kicks: Kisses for Calvary's grown garden and for hospital staff

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of June 28!

  • Big hugs and kisses to all of the wonderful, caring staff at Sechelt Hospital ER. We are blessed to have you.
  • Kisses to the patient and friendly folks waiting in the line-up at Life Labs first thing Wednesday morning. Specifically, the lady and son who opened the door for me and let me go first and the gentleman doing the John Belushi imitation. Sometimes that’s all it takes to turn your day around!
  • Many grateful kisses to Dr. Andrew Coyne for somehow managing to fast track my X-ray, CT scan and MRI.
  • A flurry of kisses to Kohuch Appliance Repair! For the second time Darren was able to diagnose the problem over the phone without a service call. And yes, it was a breaker problem.
  • Armloads of kisses to Kerry & Hive, the Cocoon and helpers for raising $500.05 to send to Doctors Without Borders. A very proactive way to teach and be supportive
  • Grateful kisses and heartfelt thanks to the lady & her daughter in London Drugs June 18 who thoughtfully paid for my cookie purchase while I was desperately looking through my purse for my credit card (later found). We do have very considerate & thoughtful people on the Coast; will definitely pay it forward.
  • Kiss by the wheelbarrow to the folks at Calvary Baptist Church for enlarging their community garden. A wonderful place to connect with neighbours and friends and grow together, in more ways than one.
  • A sewing basket of kisses and hugs to Judy and Sue at AZUR for caring customer service far beyond the call!
  • Huge thanks to the two ladies that offered their help to get a swimming pool, that we’d purchased at Canadian Tire, transported to the SPCA for us.  It didn’t fit on our car and they came to our aid and delivered it for us!  Couldn’t have done it without your help!! Thank you, two grateful seniors!
  • Rx kisses to everyone at the Medicine Shoppe in Wilson Creek, starting but not ending with Ken.  Every day in so many ways! You are deeply appreciated!
  • Kisses to all of the supportive people who cheered and made the CAD performers feel supported during the June 8/9 performance! Kicks to the one person who was offended by this. As a performer and parent, I can confidently say that the hollering is so encouraging when you're feeling anxious on stage!

Email your Kisses and Kicks to [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is 1 p.m. every Tuesday for a given week.

Coast Reporter will run kisses and kicks entries as space permits on a first-received, first-published basis.

Submissions must be accompanied by a name and phone number for confirmation by the editor. Names will not be printed in the column unless requested by the writer, for kisses only.

A kick is intended to be an anonymous critique between private parties and may in no way publicly identify an individual, group or business directly or indirectly.

Submissions must be no longer than 30 words. If your thanks or critique is longer, consider an ad in our classified section. The editor reserves the right to edit or refuse to run any submission.
