Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of December 20!
- Kisses to the community from your posties for all of the support –– your kind words, waves, and honks…all the coffee and treats mean so much to us.
- Kicks to the individual who sent kicks to people who come into the gas pumps the wrong way. There is no wrong way; North American vehicles tend to fill up on the driver’s side, many foreign vehicles fill up, particularly Japanese, from the passenger side. Hence those vehicles must enter from the opposite direction to North American vehicles.
- Kisses to the young man in the meat department at IGA! Just five minutes before closing, he went above and beyond after having cleaned his band saw for the day, he reassembled it only to cut some pork ribs for my dog. And as if that wasn’t enough, he sent me off with a warm “Have a wonderful weekend.” Truly exceptional service!
- Kicks to the guy who sometime in the middle of the night siphoned gas from a parked car on Skyline Drive. Not a cool thing to do.
- Kicks to whomever caused the medical clinic to cancel the Saturday Clinic opening. Your actions have removed access to medical care for many and will also have a negative impact on our emergency department at Sechelt Hospital. Very selfish of you.
- Kisses to Landon from Peerless Tree Service for helping us offload the heavy load of wet leaves from our truck at Salish Soils on Monday. Very much appreciated by two seniors!
- Toe tapping, hand clapping kisses to the musical show presented by The Fundamentals volunteer group to benefit SSAC. You guys rock!
- Kisses to the hydro crews, out in all (often very hazardous) weather at all hours of the day and night keeping our power on. They’re the real heroes.
- Kicks to the folks who seem to think our bus stops are actually furniture dumps. Our local stop has, at last count, seven chairs…there’s never been more than one customer waiting at the stop. Folks, please recycle your chairs or take them to the dump. The real dump.
- Powerful kisses to the BC Hydro crews working in such risky weather on our behalf! You are our heroes!
- Kisses to Hopkins Landing Branch of the Sunshine Coast Hospital Auxiliary who made a very generous donation of $2,000 to the St. Bart’s Food Bank!
- Kisses to Ken at the SCHA Thrift Store for the baby monitor –– the answer to a prayer.
