Here are your kisses and kicks for the week of April 25!
- A wheelbarrow full of kisses for the Woodcreek Guerilla Gardeners for getting my gardens ready for spring. Your sense of community and compassion is an example for all of us.
- Kicks to audience that booed a federal candidate for suggesting that we all should take more responsibility for our lives.
- Kisses to postal workers who keep it together and keep smiling even when dealing with rude and impatient people
- Continued kicks to the contractors/companies who fly up and down Redrooffs Rd. Speed limit is 50km. Also, the ones who park dangerously in the middle of the street on blind curves with no warning cones.
- Kisses to the residents of Halfmoon Bay who drive the speed limit and slow down for pedestrians and wildlife. Respect = a wonderful community to live in.
- Thank you to the SCRD maintenance crew who did such a great job fixing up the Sunnyside connector trail from Chaster.
- Kicks to property owners with outrageously bright outdoor floodlights that blast across streets. Outdoor lighting should provide safety—not act like a spotlight from a stadium.
- 80 kisses to my 80 buddies who celebrated my 50th birthday with me! Love you muppets. And big kisses to the Sechelt Legion and staff and Karaoke Joanne who made the event stress-free and fun!
- Kisses to the Dollar Tree staff member that ran my wallet out to my car when I forgot it on the counter. You are an angel.
- Kisses to the Rotary Club of Gibsons who are holding Meat Draws this month at the 101 Brewhouse & Distillery to raise much needed funds for the St. Bart’s Food Bank!
- A big thank you to the staff of IGA in Wilson Creek for finding the cash I lost in the store. If it hadn’t been for your help, I would have been “out of pocket!”
- Kisses to the kind people who are willing to share good fortune, making everyone happier.
- The Sunshine Coast is losing its finest ceramics artist! Laurie Rolland eclipses all other potters in technique, craft and intention. As she retires, a massive hole is left for her collectors, and her acolytes. Laurie will be greatly missed!
- Kisses to Shadowblix Farm at the Sechelt Farmers’ Market for replacing my purchase of herbs free of charge when I lost the bag containing them. Another example of Coast kindness. I’ll pay it forward!
