Fog hangs over qathet region this morning

Sun will come out this afternoon as haze dissipates

FOGGY MORNING: Currently the humidity is at 100 per cent, creating fog this morning in the qathet region. By later morning the sun will come out and the temperature will rise to six degrees in the afternoon. The photo above was taken at Third Beach in Townsite.

Fog horns could be heard early this morning due to the thick haze across the water today, Monday, January 6.

According to the Weatherhood forecast, there is zero chance of precipitation today, with a high temperature of six degrees Celsius in the daytime, dropping to one degree this evening. The wind this morning is blowing up to 15 kilometres an hour.

For tomorrow, Tuesday, January 7, there is a 71 per cent chance of rain and Wednesday, January 8, there will be a mix of sun and cloud throughout the day and a high of seven degrees.

Thursday and Friday the rain will be back, but by the weekend, the sun will come out, with a chilly high temperature of four degrees both days.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) the January weather outlook for the west coast of BC calls for above average temperatures.
