A B.C. man has pleaded not guilty to multiple gun-related charges and elected a trial before a Vancouver Provincial Court judge.
Henry Aldofo Barahona, 30, appeared before Judge John Milne for arraignment on nine counts related to a Feb 23, 2023 situation, according to court documents.
The charges are:
• possessing an unloaded restricted firearm — a .45-calibre Ruger semiautomatic pistol — with accessible ammunition while not registered or licenced to possess it;
• occupying a vehicle knowing there was a prohibited firearm — a modified nine-millimetre Rohm signalling revolver — in the vehicle;
• occupying a vehicle knowing there was a prohibited firearm — a .45-calibre Ruger semiautomatic pistol — in the vehicle;
• four counts of possessing a restricted or prohibited firearm without having the licence or registration to do so;
• possession of a 45-calibre Ruger semiautomatic pistol knowing it had been obtained in the commission of an offence; and,
• carrying, handling, shipping, transporting or storing firearms in a careless manner.
The case now moves to a pretrial conference April 16. Barahona's next court appearance is April 18.
