BC Ferries warns of possible sailing cancellations for Friday

High winds in the forecast for north Strait of Georgia could impact Westview to Comox sailings

STRONG WINDS: BC Ferries put out a service notice this afternoon warning passengers of at-risk sailing cancellations and delays for Friday, October 18, 2024. Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a wind warning for Sunshine Coast, Saltery Bay to Powell River, for Friday.

BC Ferries has issued a service notice for at-risk sailings from Westview (Powell River) to Comox (Little River), due to adverse weather conditions. BC Ferries stated that the following sailings are at risk of being cancelled for tomorrow, Friday, October 18, 202, as a result of Environment and Climate Change Canada’s (ECCC) severe weather forecast for the entire Sunshine Coast.

Sailings at risk of cancellation: 

9:55 am departing Little River

11:50 am departing Westview

3:25 pm departing Little River

5:15 pm departing Westview

7:10 pm departing Little River

8:45 pm departing Westview
