Dawson Creek can expect to see an increase in police while RCMP look to determine motive after a shooting in Mile Zero.
Investigators are currently in the area looking for witnesses, and collecting video or dash-cam footage.
It was noted earlier Tuesday the North District Major Crime Unit (NDMCU) was deployed to a shooting in Dawson Creek that left one man dead.
On October 9 at approximately 6pm the Dawson Creek RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 97 near Arras Road in Dawson Creek.
Responding officers attended the scene and located one man in a vehicle who was suffering from injuries inconsistent with a motor vehicle collision. The man succumbed to his injuries.
NDMCU has taken conduct of the investigation and is working closely in partnership with the Dawson Creek RCMP and the BC Coroners Service.
The North District Major Crime Unit is asking any witnesses or anyone who was near the intersection of Highway 97 S and Arras Road, heading towards Dawson Creek between 5:30 and 7pm with dash-camera video to contact the Dawson Creek RCMP at (250) 784-3700.
