4.1-magnitude earthquake strikes off northern Vancouver Island

The quake hit about 234 kilometres from Port Hardy just before 6:25 a.m. Monday.

A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck off northern Vancouver Island on Monday morning.

The quake hit at 6:24 a.m. PDT about 234 kilometres north of Port Hardy, between Vancouver Island and Haida Gwaii, at a depth of 10 km under the Pacific Ocean, Earthquakes Canada said.

The federal agency has not received any reports that the earthquake was felt.
