Should Gibsons facilitate creation of more affordable housing? How?
Yes. But gradually. By joint ventures: Part of it is for market sales and part of it is for social purposes. For social purposes: 1. Young families 2. Less fortunate families 3. Seniors
What should council be doing to protect the Town’s water supply?
1. Protecting the existing creeks alive. 2. Preventing pollution in the neighborhood. 3. Educating general ecology. 4. Keeping clean the rain water and underground water.
Should Gibsons prepare for climate change? If so how?
Gibsons should prepare for the climate change: 1. To set the mindset of ecology. 2. To educate the relationship of human and climate. 3. To explain the impact of daily diet on the climate change. 4. To think forward for next generations.
How can council mitigate the many upward pressures on property taxes?
Bring in investments and business strategies: 1. Widen the scope of business segments or light industrial parks to have better revenue. 2. Increase revenue sources 3. Reduce upward pressures on property taxes.
How would you balance pushback on development with need for housing?
This is a dilemma: High end and low end developments are needed.
1. There is a suitable balance to meet the need. 2. Actual supply and demand in reality is checked from time to time. 3. Making both development and housing need met.
