I was painting with my art group at the Sunshine Coast Art Centre on Wednesday, May 2 where an army of Sechelt Garden Club members were busily weeding and cleaning up the beds of the garden, pruning trees and trimming rhodos.
These hardworking volunteers are all donating their time and energy for a much needed clean up job. I think it's important that our community knows what an important contribution the Sechelt Garden Club makes helping organizations that don't have sufficient resources for garden maintenance. They helped out last year at the SC Art Centre and in the past have done amazing work in the gardens of Shorncliffe and Totem Lodge.
They are the unsung heroes and heroines of Sechelt.
