Sunshine Coast Weather: Hot day for May

Sechelt and Gibsons residents can anticipate dry and warm conditions this weekend, with no rainfall expected until Sunday, predicts Weatherhood and Environment Canada.

It's shaping up to be another namesake day on the Sunshine Coast.

As of 10 a.m. it is 16 C in Sechelt, with a high of 21 C expected later this afternoon by Weatherhood.

While it will be slightly cooler in Gibsons with a high of 19 C, neither municipality is expected to see rainfall until Sunday, according to Weatherhood.

Along with the sun, Environment Canada notes a high UV index on the Coast today. 

With clear conditions forecast over the weekend, parts of Sunshine Coast may see temperatures as high as 23 C.
