Tremendous care

Letters

Editor:

I had a recent health event that resulted in an ambulance trip to Sechelt Hospital. Although the entire episode was scary, the care provided by all the services was exceptional. The Madeira Park volunteer firefighters were first on the scene and had things in hand when Cheryl and Mark arrived with the ambulance. In no time at all, I was on my way to the hospital being prodded and probed, reassured of my condition by Mark and secure in the understanding that I would survive.

During the 24 hours I spent in the emergency ward, I was under the care of Rita, Susan and a very competent team of nurses and doctors. At times the emergency ward seems like absolute bedlam. I wondered if there were enough staff to attend to all the patients. Although apparently understaffed, everything was under control. The care that I received was to be congratulated. I thank all those involved; you are all wonderful. We are very fortunate to have this valuable service available on the Coast.
