Hospital deserves medal

Letters

Editor:

I recently had the opportunity to be a patient of both Sechelt and Lions Gate hospitals. My experience at Sechelt Hospital has led me to believe they deserve a medal for patient care.

I was treated with caring and compassion from everyone on staff, from the triage nurse in ER, lab techs, nurses, LPNs, doctors, and the ever heroic paramedics (Brendan and Nadine) who braved a snowstorm and a very scary ride to get me safely to Lions Gate Hospital, with a few laughs along the way.

Sechelt Hospital may not have all the resources of the big city hospitals; it does, however, have the most important resource – the people who work there.

Every single person I encountered made me feel that everything was going to be all right.

We are so fortunate to have a hospital in our community that, despite the staff being so busy, all take the time to comfort and calm their patients. I cannot thank them enough.
