The Gibsons and District Public Library Board and its workers, who are members of CUPE 391, have reached a new four-year collective agreement.
CUPE 391 members held a ratification vote on June 4, while the Library Board ratified the agreement on June 14.
“Working directly with the employer we were able to quickly and effectively negotiate a fair and reasonable agreement which satisfies both parties,” said Gerard Batty, CUPE 391 president. “We enjoy a collaborative working relationship with the Board and Library Director and look forward to continuing to provide quality public services to the residents of Gibsons.”
The new agreement is retroactive to Jan. 1, 2014 and expires Dec. 31, 2017.
CUPE 391 is a composite local, representing public library workers in Gibsons, Sechelt and Vancouver. The collective agreement covers 13 members at the Gibsons and District Public Library.
