The public hearing for Goldmoss Gallery in Roberts Creek has been postponed at the request of area director Mark Lebbell.
At the Feb. 26 Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) regular board meeting Lebbell moved that the issue first be referred to the Roberts Creek official community plan committee and area planning committee for comment.
All were in favour of the motion, which officially cancels the planned March 18 public hearing.
Coopers Green
The fund that has been started for a new Coopers Green Hall in Halfmoon Bay will grow to more than $160,000 with the addition of $26,000 from BC Hydro.
Area director and SCRD board chair Garry Nohr moved that the $26,000 benefit being paid to the SCRD by BC Hydro for the Bear Creek hydro project go towards the hall.
All directors were in favour of the motion, which will see the funds set aside for the project.
The new hall is expected to cost about $650,000 and fundraising efforts by the Welcome Beach Community Association are ongoing.

Pender pub
Owners of the Grasshopper Pub and Liquor Store in Pender Harbour will be able to keep the higher occupancy rates they were allowing before fire destroyed the landmark in September of 2013.
After the rebuild was underway SCRD staff found a discrepancy between what was allowed in the zoning and what was actually being done onsite before the fire.
The discrepancy was rectified on Feb. 26 when directors unanimously agreed to allow a seating capacity of 309 people at the pub, to allow 16 hotel rooms (or housekeeping units) onsite and to allow a retail floor area of 161 square metres.
Previously the pub and liquor store was allowed 290 seats, 10 hotel rooms and 65 square meters of retail space.
