It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Walker. John passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on March 12th, 2024 at Sechelt Hospital. John is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ann, son Rory (Dolores), and daughters Wendy (Bill) Cindy (Charles) Stacy (Bill) Sherry (Terry) Leanne (Danny), his 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. John is also survived by his sister, Carolyn and brothers, Roy and Brian. His passing will forever leave a hole in our hearts.
John was born in Vancouver, B.C and lived most of his life on the Sunshine Coast where he raised his six children with Ann. John’s passion was driving trucks and he continued to drive until he was 81.
In his later years, John was very well known in the West Sechelt area for waving at all the cars that passed by at the top of Norwest Bay Road.
The community has lost an amazing, kind man and he will be dearly missed.
