Stellar line-up for Pender Blues Fest

David Vest is just one of the many performers lined up for the Pender Harbour Blues Festival.

A stellar line-up promises something for everyone when the Pender Harbour Blues Society presents the 11th annual Pender Harbour Blues Festival June 6 to 8.

Performers include: James Har­man, Steve Kozak, Shaun Ver­reault, David Vest, Sibel Thrasher, Tim Hearsey, Doc Fingers, Michael Van Eyes, Joe Stanton, Simon Paradis, Jason Buie, Steve Hinton and Dave Paterson.

Harman and Kozak will kick off the festival on Friday, June 6, at the Garden Bay Pub. And Verreault of Wide Mouth Mason performs at the Garden Bay Pub on Saturday night.

Be sure to catch Southern-bred boogie-woogie piano player Vest performing two nightly dinner shows at The Painted Boat Restaurant both Friday and Saturday nights. The Garden Bay Pub will also host dinner shows featuring Van Eyes on Friday and Saturday.

Vancouver’s Incognito along with Nadine States will be rockin’ the dance party at the Pender Harbour Community Hall.

The Sunday Gospel Show at the School of Music will feature Thrasher and Vest.

The popular Sunday all-star jam will be hosted by Hearsey with special guests.

And a spectacular piano-rama show at the Garden Bay Pub on Sunday will close the festival with Vest, Fingers and Van Eyes.

There will also be free shows on Saturday afternoon. Enjoy the outdoor blues stage in Madeira Park showcasing some of the Coast’s most talented local musicians including Hinton and Paterson, Buie, and a special added performance by Harman, Vest and Kozak.

Check out Coast favourites Stanton and Paradis on the acoustic stage at John Henry’s Marina. And catch more free live music at the Crossroads Grill, with Skinny Jimmy from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
